Web3’s landscape is undergoing a dramatic transformation as AI-powered decentralized applications (DApps) gain unprecedented traction, disrupting the traditional dominance of blockchain gaming and decentralized finance (DeFi). April 2025 witnessed a 26.9% surge in active users for AI DApps, with daily wallets climbing to 3.8 million—a significant jump from February’s 2.6 million.

In contrast, both DeFi and gaming sectors experienced contractions of 16% and 10%, respectively. This growth solidifies AI’s expanding role in the crypto ecosystem, hinting at a potential shift in capital allocation and developer attention toward machine learning-integrated protocols.
